A quick & helpful guideline for photographers to help them choose models and how to find them.
Artist's Comments
This is a picture I did for a German contest last year, and I won the 2th price!
I wanted the whole piece to be very colourful and bright, showing a woman playing the traditional Japanese instrument, the shamisen. All the flowers were lots of work... It took a long time to finish them with coloured pencils. The picture is done in coloured pencils only, with a little copic marker foundation for the skin. (Oh how I love egg shell...) PS: As some people asked me: I will do commissions for you. I am working on a page to summarize what I can do and how much it will be, until then, feel free to just ask me. Comments
She's so beautiful!
-- The piece is absolutely stunning. It's simply amazing what one can do with colored pencils. The kimono and background especially are fabulous. Everything's so smoothly blended--did you use a blending pencil?
-- An Artist is not paid for his labor, but for his vision All painting should be poetry. Nothing else. No ugliness, no vulgarity, no sordid dirt or chaos or commonness. Make all your words sweet. You might have to eat them later. A tutorial would be awesome. I work in colored pencils myself and am always willing to try new techniques.
